How LinkedIn outreach helped Real Direction build a £40.5k sales pipeline

Emily Johnston is an innovative lead generation consultant who loves putting Dux-Soup to good use, turning the LinkedIn outreach process into a slick business growth machine that gets consistent results.

For education provider Real Direction, she delivered a £40.5k sales pipeline and 11 meetings, one of which closed for £12k, in just 3months, moving the needle for their business at a pace they’d not experienced before.

Dux-Soup: a natural choice for LinkedIn outreach

Emily explains how she achieved these impressive results.

“Using Dux-Soup for LinkedIn outreach runs in the family. My father’s company has used it for years and he has always been a big advocate, so it was a natural choice when I wanted to add LinkedIn automation to my sales and marketing toolkit.

I love working with Dux-Soup because it allows me to hit the ground running and start generating leads quickly. One of the first clients I introduced it to was Real Direction, which provides knife crime education resources.

Initially, I had reservations about the suitability of using LinkedIn for outreach towards the public sector. I couldn't have been more wrong.

We’ve built a fantastic pipeline that wouldn’t have existed through manual outreach. Dux-Soup has transformed how the business generates opportunities while saving a huge amount of time.

Better than email and cold calling

When I started, Real Direction had only a modest presence on LinkedIn. I’ve been running outreach through the CEO’s profile. This is effective because we can do peer-to-peer conversations which feel much more authentic and we’ve been able to leverage his existing network of connections.

The beauty of using Dux-Soup to drive outreach is that it works quickly and avoids the challenges of email and cold calling where it's so much harder to get results. Ensuring we are using LinkedIn for more than just outreach is really important. We post, comment and engage. Bringing all this together has helped to improve engagement and response rates.

Rapid pipeline impact

Each campaign is slightly different, but in general I use a connection request followed by two or three follow-up messages. I also make sure the LinkedIn campaigns are aligned with our wider marketing efforts.

I’m a big believer that business doesn’t stop at 5pm on a Friday. Our target audience is often online at the weekend. In the public sector, we often see people working at weekends. I’ve had success with kicking off campaigns at 6pm on a Sunday. It’s a quiet time of the day and we get a good response rate.

The key to any LinkedIn campaign is working with good quality data. In the public sector, job titles and responsibilities can vary significantly from one organization to another, so I spend time carefully building the target list. More accurate targeting means more relevant outreach and better results.

I’ve run eight different campaigns in three months, targeting between 100 and 1,500 contacts.

Across those campaigns we’ve generated 11 meetings, creating over £40,500 worth of opportunities. For a small business, these results have exceeded expectations.

Consistently turning up

You need to show up consistently, so people recognize your organization when the timing is right.

Real Direction has a wealth of valuable content, so we use Dux-Soup to run nurture campaigns that keep those assets in front of our audience and maintain our presence in the market.

If you can be consistent with your LinkedIn outreach it becomes a virtuous circle. As our network has grown, more people see our content, which increases awareness and creates more opportunities to start conversations.

Nurturing becomes even more important during the quieter summer months. With automated campaigns running in the background, we can maintain regular touchpoints without having to manage every interaction manually.

Delivering rapid return on investment

Seeing tangible sales results within three months demonstrates the value Dux-Soup can bring. As a freelancer, I’m proud that my work has led to:

·       Four proposals

·       Four customers piloting Real Direction’s solutions

·       A closed sale worth £12,000.

Real Direction is still a relatively young organization and we’ve built our sales and marketing processes from the ground up.

Dux-Soup has been an affordable addition to our tech stack and has delivered a strong return on investment in a very short space of time.

Safe LinkedIn automation tool

For freelancers and self-employed consultants, Dux-Soup is a brilliant choice for LinkedIn automation. You can tailor campaigns to suit each client’s goals, making it easy to deliver a personalized approach.

I am severely dyslexic and dyspraxic, so having a tool that is intuitive and easy to use has been invaluable.

I can get straight on with building and deploying campaigns instead of spending time trying to work out how the software works.

The support has also been excellent, and I must give a shout-out to Giles from Dux-Soup, who has provided practical guidance and coaching that has helped make our campaigns even better.

I’ve found Dux-Soup to be a very safe LinkedIn automation tool.

Even when running campaigns towards the higher end of the recommended activity levels, I’ve had no issues operating within LinkedIn’s limits or maintaining consistent outreach.

Why I’d recommend Dux-Soup

As a self-employed consultant, every client is different. I know that in Dux-Soup, I have a flexible way to build tailored outreach campaigns for each client.

The success I’ve achieved with Real Direction has given me the confidence to introduce Dux-Soup to more of my clients, where I know it will help them build a consistent pipeline of qualified leads.

Any small business that is serious about generating leads in a cost-effective way should be using Dux-Soup alongside LinkedIn. It has worked incredibly well for us, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
